Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Vidya: game binder ("Vidya", "the app") handles your information. Vidya is built by Francisco Martínez ("we", "us"). The short version: there are no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, your collection stays on your phone, and we don't sell data.

On your phone

Your collection, binders, wanted games, grades and the photos you take of your games are stored on your device. Photos are read on the device to find titles and barcodes; the photo itself is not uploaded when you add a game.

What reaches our server

• Searches and matching. What you type in search, and the text and barcodes read from a photo or scan, are sent to our catalog server to find the game.
• Barcodes you confirm. When a scanned barcode leads to the game you add, we keep that pairing so the next scan of the same box is exact.
• Things you choose to share. If you add a game the catalog doesn't have, or share a photo as box art, we receive what you sent: the game's details and, if you included one, the photo. We check submissions before anyone else can see them; approved photos become the box art other people see.
• An anonymous device ID. A random identifier created by the app, not linked to your name, Apple Account or email. It lets us limit how much one device can submit, show you the status of what you sent, and count barcode confirmations from different devices.

We don't keep logs of your requests, and we don't sell or share your data. To look up a barcode we don't know yet, our server may ask a barcode database about the code; only the code is sent.

Keeping and deleting

Submissions and barcode confirmations are kept while the catalog uses them. To have what your device sent deleted, email hi@framara.net; the app lists what it sent under Settings, Your contributions. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your phone.

Children

Vidya is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
